Our core service is independent verification of organisational GHG inventories. We establish the specific scope and intended use before proposing an engagement.
No other commercial interests
We do not sell advice, recommend software or earn commissions.
We do not provide carbon reduction consultancy. We do not advise organisations on strategy, target-setting or offsetting. We do not recommend or endorse carbon accounting software, and we do not receive commissions or referral fees from software platforms or any other provider. We do not provide any service beyond independent verification.
This is not a limitation. It is the architecture of our independence, and the reason our verification opinions carry weight. When we issue a verification statement, there is no advisory relationship to protect, no software partnership to maintain and no commercial interest in any outcome other than the accuracy of the data.

When you engage Carbon Verification Limited, you bring experience built up since 2007 to the verification of your carbon footprint. We have seen the data quality issues, calculation errors and methodological shortcuts that organisations take, sometimes knowingly, sometimes not.
The practical result is twofold. First, you receive an expert service, delivered by auditors who verify carbon footprints every working day, not auditors who verified a quality management system last week and a food safety system the week before. Second, because our processes are built entirely around GHG verification, we work with an efficiency that lets us offer outstanding value for money without compromising rigour.
Your inventory
Preparation and correction remain with your organisation.
Your team or an independent adviser collects data, selects methods, calculates the inventory and implements corrections. We examine the evidence and explain findings. We do not build the inventory we will later verify.
Agree the scope
Some needs require a different engagement or provider.
Other environmental claims
Carbon neutrality, avoided emissions, water, forests and wider sustainability information are not automatically covered by a GHG inventory engagement.
Regulated verification
We do not undertake UK ETS or CORSIA verification. Other recipient or programme requirements may also call for an accredited provider.
